Mike Clauser opened Custom Care Compounding in 1993 with the goal to create a neighborhood pharmacy driven by a strong sense of community. It wasn’t long before the business became a Tri-Valley staple.

When Mike’s son, John Clauser, and John’s wife, Emma Head, took over the family business in 2017, they were no strangers to entrepreneurship. In fact, John started his first business right out of college – a successful marketing firm that is still in operation under other ownership.

Healthcare has always been a passion for John and Emma. In 2014, the pair worked together at Right At Home, a franchise that provides quality in-home care to disabled individuals and the elderly in the Bay Area. But despite these other ventures, when the opportunity arose to take over the family pharmacy, they committed to the challenge. As born entrepreneurs and natural builders, the couple isn’t afraid to put in the hard work to create something truly exceptional.

Owning the pharmacy is a dream come true for John and Emma. They are passionate about making a profound difference in the lives of others, especially when it comes to healthcare. John and Emma believe that the standard healthcare system in this country is broken. They see this pharmacy as a way to help restore the brokenness and rebuild lost trust between people and their care teams.
